Best food I had in Florence. All the reviews you read are true, good ambiance and staff was attentive. I had the best veal cheek of my entire life, do yourself a favor and order the natural wine.
Highly recommended! The staff is so friendly and the food was excellent. Lots of locals earing there as well. We had a very good time in il guscio and will definitifely return when back in Firenze.
Really nice modern Tuscan food. Traditional Tuscan food with a simple modern twist!
My wife had the misto Artichoke and I had the veal tongue for starters. It was really tasty. For mains my wife had the duck with orange and I had the beef with pate. Really nicely done. Chilled atmosphere, attentive staff. Price was reasonable. Great Combo! Give it a try!!
Interesting Tuscan cuisine. We tried the pate, gorgonzola risotto, rabbit ragu pappardelle, and the roast lamb. We thought the risotto was a bit too sweet (from the pears in it) to be a main dish. The roast lamb was lovely, and the rabbit ragu was nice.
Very very good!! We started with the fried artichokes (served w burrata) and spinach salad with pears, blue cheese, walnuts. Both were simple and delicious. I got the Maltagliati fiori di zucca e gamberi which was in a super flavorful broth and so so good. Also the lamb was delicious and the pork was perfectly cooked and the truffle mashed potatoes were fantastic. The side salad is huge so definitely can be split between people. The service was fantastic with well informed staff and great recommendations!
This place is absolutely phenomenal. Off the beaten track and in a quiet residential street south of the river. I live in London with access to fantastic restaurants but Il Guscio beats them all.
We had a really fantastic meal at Il Guscio. Everything was absolutely perfect. It’s truffle season and you can smell it as you come in through the door as it’s used widely in the menu . There are a few seafood dishes and the one we took tasted very fresh. The beef was unbelievably tender. The prices are a bit higher than some other places but the quality of ingredients justifies it.
Superb food great friendly and warm service. Interesting wine list too with a great level of variety beyond Toscana.
The passion for the food and service was evident throughout. Grazie Mille.
